The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and passionate about automation, with strong troubleshooting skills and hands-on experience supporting enterprise batch scheduling platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and maintain enterprise batch processing and workload automation solutions
- Install, upgrade, patch, and configure batch scheduling applications
- Administer batch scheduling tools, including day-to-day operations, configuration, and troubleshooting
- Partner with project and operations teams to design and implement batch job schedules
- Define and manage batch job dependencies, triggers, calendars, execution windows, and priorities to meet required SLAs
- Monitor batch job execution, track progress, and identify errors, delays, or performance issues
- Troubleshoot and resolve CI/CD or migration-related batch incidents in a timely manner
- Provide on-call support for critical batch failures and operational incidents
- Investigate and resolve issues related to job scheduling, execution, and system performance
- Analyze and optimize batch schedules to improve performance, reliability, and resource utilization
- Maintain batch scheduling environments, including software updates, security patches, and configuration changes
- Collaborate cross-functionally to understand business requirements and ensure seamless integration of batch processes
- Strong experience with application installations, upgrades, and patching
- 6+ years of experience managing enterprise batch scheduling tools, including configuration and maintenance
- 2–3+ years of hands-on experience administering Redwood RunMyJobs, including configuration, troubleshooting, and day-to-day operations
- Experience supporting batch workloads in large-scale enterprise environments
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex scheduling and execution issues
- Experience with additional batch scheduling platforms such as IBM Tivoli Work Scheduler, Control-M, ActiveBatch, or similar tools
- Working knowledge of Linux, Windows, and related operating systems
- Ability to write scripts and automate tasks related to scheduling, monitoring, and reporting
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
