Job Description
PRG has partnered with a rapidly growing ISP for the buildout of a new network. We have been asked to help them identify and hire technically savvy Construction Techs to help manage the buildout of this network. Each Construction Tech will be assigned three separate (ISP/OSP) crews to ensure they are operating at 100% efficiency. The Construction Tech will be looking for current permits, PPE, tracking and reporting the fiber footages daily, customer issues, personnel issues, and other day to day items. All candidates must pass a background check and a DMV check to be considered for employment. We have two open roles one is for a bi-lingual construction tech (fluent in English and Spanish).SUMMARY: The Construction Technician is responsible for: •Responsible for providing on-site coordination of fiber optic cabling, installation, modification, and splicing work performed by crew.•Daily requirement of reporting installation of fiber footages•Surveying job sites to determine the best installation practices•Coordinating workflow within the field, acting as company liaison•Real time identification of punchlist items•Ensure and maintain all company quality control and safety requirements•Identify performance issues and recommend and implement corrective action•Coordinate scheduling and ensure adequate crew capacity•Perform quality control inspections and correct issues and complaints in real time•Resolve complaints with property owners in areas where personnel are workingQualifications:•Related Construction experience in the (outside) Telecom or Fiber industry is preferred•Experience placing cables, conduits –a plus •Team leadership skills/experience desired •Excavations experience a plus •Must have excellent communication & customer service skills•Must have a valid state driver’s license and safe/clean driving record
