Job Description
Job Duties:
- Represents business stakeholders to elicit, understand, analyze, document, refine and communicate business needs, so that business and/or technical delivery teams can build effective solutions
- Works within multiple evolving development methodologies including iterative Agile and sequential Waterfall programs and projects, and variations thereof
- Breaking down features, creating stories with detailed acceptance criteria for developers to execute upon in Agile
- Understanding dependencies of work with other groups in and outside of our ART (Agile Release Team
- Identifying, roaming and solving risks
- Providing regular updates on the progress of work and demoing the completion of business objectives
- Works with the business process owners to develop metrics to manage and track benefits, adoption and risks to operations. Assists with project level plans related to schedule, scope and resources
- Reviews and accepts or declines output of development to ensure specified acceptance criteria have been completed
- Prepares the business for the change and arms them with tactics and metrics for benefits, adoption, and risk
- Assists with coaching less experienced DPOs and team members
Required Experience:
- Prior/current development product owner (DPO) experience working on both run the business and build the business efforts
- Ability to refine features, create stories with acceptance criteria for a team of developers without having a strong background in the subject matter area (3-7 years)
- Ability to communicate progress of the work in a transparent manner to stakeholders and business owners (3-7 years)
- Ability to manage risk and impediments, problem solve and find solutions to remove barriers and ensure work can progress forward
- Experience using JIRA & JWM
