Job Description
Title: Senior DevOps/Cloud Engineer
Location: Houston, TX | Onsite (hybrid potential after first few months)
Compensation: Negotiable
Technical Requirements:
- Strong Azure experience is required
- Strong DevOps –Infrastructure and CI/CD
- Strong skills with Azure Cloud Technologies, Azure based services, Cloud Patterns
- Containerization and Orchestration technologies –Docker, Swarm, K8 experience
- Cloud Native Software Development
- Some IoT exposure –preferred
- Real-time Databases, SQL, NoSQL, Angular (some experience/understanding)
- General understanding of AI/ML preferred
- Agile
- Bachelors in Computer Science;Masters is preferred
- Must have experience/be able to work with mixed teams (on and off-shore);different time zones
- Fog computing experience, a plus
- Consulting related experience a plus (exposure to different technologies/environments)
Educational and Other Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field;Master’s degree is highly preferred
- 5+ years as a Senior Cloud/DevOps Engineer with strong Azure, CI/CD, Infrastructure skills & experience
- Deep background in Applications and Infrastructure in Cloud Compute workloads in Azure
- Experience and familiarity with a modern Agile / DevOps development process, including continuous integration and deployment, tracking of project metrics, unifying development and operations, etc.
- Understanding of client / server and distributed system / cloud architecture patterns
- Experience with cloud storage, such as Azure Storage or equivalent
- Experience in architecting and designing container frameworks used to run microservices or data processing workloads with Docker
- Experience with data stores and databases (including performance tuning), such as SQL Server, Azure Cosmos, MySQL, Hadoop, DynamoDB, Redis, MongoDB, or Cassandra
- Expertise in software architecture design, distributed systems, microservice architectures, and data distribution strategies
- Experience with data analytics tools
- Sound understanding and firsthand experience architecting edge and IoT solutions.
Additional Valued Experience:
- Experience supporting solution development for large-scale, web-based, cloud native software system applications
- Experience developing full application stacks
- Experience in developing software systems, which employ data mining, machine learning, or statistical techniques, methods and algorithms
- Experience deploying cloud solutions into hybrid environments, including architecting services for simultaneous cloud and on-premise deployment
- Coordination of geographically distributed teams
