Job Description
The day-to-day engineering environment is characterized by combining technical expertise (necessary hardware skill sets) with an opportunity to make an impact through technical innovation. How you'll make an impact:
- Direct technical contributor to a Project Team.
- Conceptualize, design, implement, and verify functional hardware.
- Support a Project Team's goals and objectives regarding product designs and product sustainment.
- Contribute and influence new ideas that expand markets and product lines.
- Work and integrate with multiple engineering disciplines to achieve tasks and milestones.
- Interface with Manufacturing, Quality Control, and Customer Service to provide technical product insights on new and existing products.
- Stay technically abreast of emerging technologies, techniques, and methodologies to support an inventive environment.
What you'll need to succeed:
- 1-5 years of experience (5-10+ years of experience for a Senior Hardware Engineer) in high-level hardware architecture design and development, with emphasis in an embedded environment
- Proficient knowledge of and implementable experience with various bus communication protocols.
- Proficient knowledge of and implementable experience with various wireless technologies.
- Experience in supporting production testing and maintenance of embedded systems.
- Experience in working with cross-functional teams and providing system-level support.
- Proficient CAD skills.
- Proficient design analysis skills.
- A comprehensive, broad knowledge of product development and system integration.
- Ability to mentor and/or supervise technical staff, as needed.
- Develop relationships with key suppliers.
- Ability to fearlessly solve problems in any engineering discipline - through others, if necessary.
- A four-year Engineering degree is required; Master's Degree in engineering or computer science is an advantage.
- Highly desirable: working knowledge of embedded firmware and DSP's.
