Job Description
SUMMARY
Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC equipment on commercial office buildings,
healthcare facilities, industrial plants, data centers, and critical cooling facilities. Technician
II is a proficient mid-level technician that brings the ability to maintain, troubleshoot, and
repair large tonnage package units, built up DX split systems, SCUDS, air- and water-cooled
chillers, pumps and cooling towers. Ability to read and understand wiring diagrams.
Understand airflow on VAV systems and troubleshoot VFD.’s Conduct work exhibiting a
professional demeanor and tactful and courteous communication with a diverse client
base.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair various HVAC systems including: Up to 130-ton
package units, WSHP, VAV and FPB, VRF systems, Boilers, Pumps, Built up DX systems,
Air-cooled and water-cooled chillers, SCUDS, Cooling towers, Variable frequency drives.
•Troubleshoot air flow, air distribution, building pressure, and VAV systems.
•Trace out and troubleshoot complex electrical systems.
•Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair: Air cooled scroll chillers, Air cooled and water-cooled
reciprocating chillers, Air cooled and water-cooled screw chillers up to 450 tons
•Teardown semi-hermetic compressors and perform in-field top end repairs or determine
reasons for failure.
•Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair specialized DX systems such as Liebert equipment,
Aaon units, Meunters, etc.
•Maintain a safe and clean work environment, including the proper use of PPE
•Maintain an organized and clean company vehicle
•Manage assigned projects, including coordinating with Account Managers and Service
Coordinator for parts, subcontractors, and labor
•Arrange and communicate daily schedule with Service Coordinator
•Coordinate and maintain company-issued tools and equipment
•Complete accurate timecards, service activities, and inspection reports
•Collaborate with other team members, including Service Coordinators and Service
Supervisors, to proactively anticipate and develop solutions to client problems.
•Demonstrate professional craftsmanship and pride in your work.
•Articulate diagnostics and resolutions in communications and correspondence with
clients and team.
•Work safely following industry standards.
•Other duties as assigned.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
•Minimum of 5-7 years of commercial HVAC experience.
•Associate’s degree, or equivalent experience and training
•Valid Driver's License
•Current EPA Universal
•Texas ACR Registered
•Current Texas TDLR Registration
•Provide basic hand tools, i.E. Gauges, meter(s), screwdrivers, wrenches, pliers, etc.
•Actively seek training, coaching, and expand knowledge of the industry
•Flexibility to work overtime and weekends, as needed
•Basic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Teams, and smartphones
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
•Must be able to lift and maneuver large, heavy equipment, parts, and tools, weighing
in excess of 50 lbs.
•Must be able to work on ladders, lifts, and from high elevations
•Must be able to work in confined spaces
•Must be able to work in extremely hot and cold climates
