PRG has partnered with a major utility services organization in the search for a Manager of Revenue. This person will have 2-3 direct reports and be a critical cog in the revenue cycle.

Summary of position:

This position is responsible for managing the billing and accounts receivable department as well as designing, implementing and enforcing policies and procedures to optimize the order to cash value stream and insuring accurate revenue accounting treatment for all revenue streams.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure accurate and timely billing of Company customers for all products and services.
  • Calculate and recognize revenue in accordance with US GAAP for all revenue streams.
  • Create and maintain the credit approval process for new and existing customers.
  • Oversee the timely and accurate cash application process and research of variances from invoice amounts.
  • Establish collection procedures and review aging reports to determine appropriate bad debt allowances.
  • Manage, hire, develop and train staff.
  • Maintain adequate documentation for external auditor review of billing and collections transactions.
  • Develop month-end close procedures pertaining to billing and collections including journal entry preparation, data entry, reconciling and reporting.
  • Interact with customers and internal departments on questions and issues.
  • Troubleshoot issues and resolve efficiently.
  • Assist in the formulation of internal controls and identify/implement improvement changes to aid with efficiency and performance goals and objectives.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
  • 5 plus years of relevant experience in billing, revenue recognition, collections and cash application.
  • Previous supervision/management experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, financial management or related field is preferred.
  • The job will require travel during the first 3 to 6 months to work with team members in upstate NY.
  • Strong analytical, math and research skills.
  • Experience with ERP systems like PeopleSoft and NetSuite.
  • Ability to be prioritize, handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
  • Moderate to expert abilities in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
