Senior Manufacturing Engineer, Assembly

 

Position Summary

Plans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing processes. Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards. Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, workflow, equipment layout design and workspace for maximum efficiency. Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions. Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential. Implements new product introduction with program management skills.

Required Knowledge / Skills / Experience / Certifications / Licenses
  • Bachelor’ s Degree.
  • 7 -10 years’ experience.
  • Critical Thinking – Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Complex Problem Solving – Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Troubleshooting – Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.
  • Equipment Selection – Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
  • Time Management – Managing one’ s own time and the time of others.
  • Operation Analysis – Analyzing needs and product requirements to create a design.
  • Communicating Effectively – Writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
  • Instructing – Training others how to do different processes.
  • Process Improvement – Analyze and improve processes for greater efficiency, safety, & quality.
  • Line Layout Development – Design a new layout or improve existing ones.
  • Line Balancing – Balance the line for one piece flow.
  • Change Management – Analyze EO requirements and implement changes.
  • Design Fixtures – Design fixtures to meet production, quality, and safety requirements.
  • NPP – Manage NPP with project management skills.

 

Desired Knowledge / Skills / Experience / Certifications / Licenses
  • Engineering degree preferred.
  • Proficient in engineering software(s) such as CREO & AUTOCAD.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of material (properties, treatment, and testing).
  • Good understanding of customer satisfaction and business skills.
  • Basic to extensive I.E. Skills in time and motion analysis, capacity planning.
  • Understanding of lean principles and 5S.
  • 3-5 years of job-related experience preferred.
