Medical Device Sales Representative

Job Summary

Responsible for developing and maintaining referral relationships with physicians and discharge planners to generate new patient referrals. Drives product adoption within assigned territory while delivering exceptional customer service. Serves as a product and clinical application expert and collaborates with sales leadership to achieve revenue goals.

Key Responsibilities

Referral Development Manager (RDM)
  • Generate new patient referrals to meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Promote products and services within the referral community.
  • Achieve monthly sales call activity goals.
  • Deliver and set up equipment as needed.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of sales activities and customer interactions.
  • Execute territory sales plans using strategic and tactical approaches.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and maintain reliable attendance.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Senior Referral Development Manager (Sr. RDM)

(In addition to RDM responsibilities)
  • Develop and lead execution of comprehensive territory sales plans.
  • Serve as liaison between sales team and other departments.
  • Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures and provide retraining when needed.
  • Provide guidance and direction to team members and support decision-making within the territory.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong presentation and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Proven experience in medical referral sales, preferably in oxygen therapy.
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently.
  • Experience working with senior (65+) patient populations preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and develop new referral opportunities.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with effective conflict resolution abilities.
  • Team-oriented with a strong work ethic.

Qualifications
  • Associate degree in related field (required).
  • 3+ years of medical referral sales experience (required).
  • Clinical background or licensure (RT, RN) preferred.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
