Job Description
The Physical Security Applications Engineer is responsible for the administration, configuration, and support of enterprise-level physical security systems, including Lenel OnGuard and Genetec applications. This role ensures the effective operation, maintenance, and enhancement of security applications while partnering closely with internal security teams and external vendors. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, ownership of complex security platforms, and the ability to build positive relationships with key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Application Development & Administration
- Develop, configure, and maintain applications within Lenel OnGuard and Genetec environments.
- Serve as the primary administrator for Lenel OnGuard and Genetec applications, ensuring system reliability and performance.
- Configure and deploy physical security tools and system integrations based on operational and project requirements.
- System & Server Administration
- Perform Windows and Linux server administration, including installation, patching, troubleshooting, and performance monitoring.
- Install and configure application software on designated servers, ensuring successful deployment and functionality.
- Operational Support & Ticket Management
- Manage and resolve JIRA tickets related to physical security applications, maintaining SLA timelines and high-quality service.
- Act as the primary point of contact for operational support, incident resolution, and escalations.
- Documentation & Compliance
- Create and maintain detailed runbooks documenting application architecture, server details, vendor recommendations, and actual configurations.
- Document changes, configurations, upgrades, and system updates in alignment with IT governance standards.
- Application Maintenance & Lifecycle Management
- Oversee ongoing platform maintenance including upgrades, patches, resource adjustments, and system optimizations.
- Ensure applications remain secure, compliant, and aligned with business needs.
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with internal physical security teams to ensure application effectiveness and alignment with operational requirements.
- Partner with application vendors to resolve issues, implement enhancements, and maintain platform health.
- Build positive relationships with stakeholders to ensure smooth communication and consistent support delivery.
