A growing organization is seeking a Recruiting Coordinator / HR Recruiter to support corporate staffing operations within the Human Resources department. This role will support the full-cycle recruiting process by screening and interviewing candidates, coordinating hiring activities with department leaders, managing applicant tracking, and ensuring compliance with employment practices.
The position supports hiring efforts for both exempt and non-exempt roles up to the managerial level and plays an important role in delivering a positive candidate experience while maintaining efficient recruiting operations.
Position Details
- Hourly position based on experience and skill level
- Contract opportunity with potential for extension or full-time conversion
- Schedule: Monday –Friday | 8: 00 AM –5: 00 PM
- Location: Onsite | Holly Ridge, Louisiana
- Coordinate recruiting efforts to attract qualified candidates for open positions, including scheduling interviews and partnering with hiring managers for both exempt and non-exempt roles up to the managerial level.
- Work with department leaders to understand job requirements and staffing needs.
- Screen, interview, and evaluate applicants;administer assessments when applicable;and refer qualified candidates to hiring managers.
- Prepare internal job postings and external job advertisements in collaboration with hiring managers and recruiting partners.
- Coordinate internal candidate interview scheduling and ensure timely communication with all applicants.
- Verify employment history, educational credentials, and professional references for candidates under consideration.
- Respond to employment inquiries and communicate status updates to applicants in a timely and professional manner.
- Coordinate candidate travel and lodging arrangements when required for recruitment efforts.
- Prepare offer letters and extend employment offers, including confirming compensation, benefits, start dates, and relocation arrangements when applicable.
- Coordinate post-offer pre-employment screenings and onboarding preparation.
- Maintain and update the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and other recruiting communication tools.
- Conduct exit interviews with departing employees and document feedback.
- Manage relationships with external recruiting agencies and temporary staffing providers, ensuring all temporary placements are properly approved and aligned with staffing needs.
- Assist with unemployment claim documentation, responses, and recordkeeping.
- Stay current on federal, state, and local employment laws and best practices. Support compliance initiatives including Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Affirmative Action requirements.
- Participate in audits and compliance reporting as needed.
- Support additional Human Resources initiatives, projects, and cross-functional activities when required, including assistance in areas such as compensation, benefits, training, and workforce planning.
Education
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong interviewing and candidate evaluation skills
- Basic knowledge of federal and state employment laws
- Excellent organizational, communication, and computer skills
- Ability to manage multiple recruiting activities in a fast-paced environment
- Working knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and organizational structures
Experience
- 1–3 years of Human Resources experience, including recruiting, interviewing, or general HR support
- Proven success in high-volume recruiting environments
- Construction recruiting experience strongly preferred, particularly for roles supporting structured cabling or infrastructure projects
