Our client is seeking a bright, motivated, and energetic Staff Accountant to join our growing tax team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional who is passionate about delivering high-quality tax and financial services while building strong client relationships. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and file federal and state tax returns for businesses, trusts, estates, and individuals across multiple industries and varying levels of complexity.
- Communicate directly with clients to gather financial information, clarify tax matters, and ensure accurate and timely filings.
- Prepare tax projections, estimates, and compliance reports, including sales tax filings and payroll tax returns.
- Assist clients with tax planning strategies and ongoing compliance to optimize financial outcomes.
- Stay current on tax laws, regulations, and industry developments to ensure compliance and identify planning opportunities.
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements, including posting adjusting journal entries and completing trial balances for tax and interim reporting purposes.
- Maintain accurate documentation and support schedules for audit and tax compliance purposes.
- Perform other accounting and tax-related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required.
- 1–5+ years of tax accounting experience, preferably within a CPA firm or public accounting environment.
- Strong understanding of individual and business tax preparation and compliance.
- Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and organizational abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work directly with clients.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- CPA license or CPA candidate preferred.
- Experience preparing multi-entity and multi-state tax returns.
- Public accounting experience strongly preferred.
