Construction Manager –Infrastructure & TelecomPosition Summary
The Construction Manager provides daily leadership and oversight of Infrastructure Technician teams and is responsible for the organization, planning, and execution of work activities on assigned projects. This is a senior-level field leadership role requiring extensive experience in managing complex infrastructure installations from project start-up through closeout. The role is accountable for staffing, productivity, safety, quality, and the successful delivery of high-quality results that meet or exceed company and project requirements.
Position Details
  • Location: Jeffersonville, IN
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6: 00 AM–3: 30 PM (flexibility for after-hours and weekend work as required)
  • Engagement: Contract role estimated through October 2026, with potential for extension or conversion
  • Classification: Exempt salaried position (hourly breakdown used for invoicing purposes only)
Key Responsibilities
Safety & Compliance
  • Lead by example with safety as a core value, ensuring adherence to safe work practices, company safety programs, and site-specific policies.
  • Take ownership of the safety program and ensure all safety standards are consistently met and maintained.
  • Participate in incident investigations, root cause analyses (RCAs), and implementation of lessons learned.

Quality & Execution
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of Quality Control programs.
  • Work closely with QA/QC teams to ensure installation quality meets project specifications, taking ownership of punch list resolution and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Ensure all installations comply with applicable industry standards, including ANSI/TIA, BICSI, NEBS, and other relevant specifications.

Project Planning & Workforce Management
  • Participate in the development and execution of project plans and schedules.
  • Develop and maintain rolling five-week lookahead schedules.
  • Manage workforce allocation and placement to meet or exceed project timelines and budget requirements.
  • Coordinate with project management and procurement teams to schedule material deliveries to the job site.

Leadership & Team Development
  • Participate in the interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and training of field personnel.
  • Assist in the development of training programs to support field excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as a senior subject matter expert, providing solutions for technically complex issues.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and oversight to field technicians, reinforcing best practices and safety protocols.
  • Facilitate and lead meetings with field staff as required.
  • Conduct formal performance evaluations, provide feedback, and establish development goals for direct reports.

Communication & Stakeholder Coordination
  • Serve as the on-site point of contact for construction-related activities.
  • Attend and actively participate in internal and project-driven meetings.
  • Monitor and resolve issues related to work procedures, conflicts, complaints, damages, accidents, and schedule impacts.
  • Ensure all required field documentation and reporting is completed accurately and submitted on time.
  • Represent the telecom/infrastructure discipline in cross-functional coordination meetings and site walks.
Qualifications for Success
  • Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, coaching, and team-building capabilities.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and general construction safety standards.
  • Extensive understanding of low-voltage, structured cabling systems, and industry best practices.
  • Proven experience coordinating testing and commissioning activities, including validation of telecom systems prior to turnover (e.G., OTDR, power meter testing, and QA protocols).
  • Ability to read and interpret complex construction documents, drawings, specifications, and schedules.
  • Expertise in managing fiber optic and structured cabling installations in compliance with project and industry standards.
  • Ability to identify design conflicts, discrepancies, or scope gaps and initiate RFIs and change discussions as needed.
  • Strong scheduling, sequencing, and work-planning skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective conflict resolution and ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to interact professionally with all levels of management, project stakeholders, trade partners, and vendors.
  • Technical understanding of change control processes and their impacts on design, materials, and installation schedules.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, Bluebeam, and construction management software tools.
  • Willingness and ability to learn and support evolving construction and industry technologies.
Education & Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 3–5 years of supervisory experience on large-scale, multi-million-dollar structured cabling or infrastructure projects.
  • Experience managing large, distributed field teams (100+ personnel) across major project sites.
  • Experience supporting mission-critical infrastructure installations, including data center new build or retrofit projects, strongly preferred.
  • Experience leading union telecom crews and working within collective bargaining agreements preferred.
Preferred Certifications
  • OSHA 30-Hour (required within six months if not held at time of hire)
  • BICSI Technician (TECH)
  • BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD)
Supervisory Responsibility
This role includes direct supervisory responsibility for field personnel.
Work Location & Travel
  • Daily on-site presence required
  • Up to 15% travel as needed
