Seeking a Design Researcher with expertise leading UX/design research efforts to inform digital, design, and strategy. In this role, you will apply knowledge and experience in design research and human-centered design to lead and conduct user experience and design research activities that inform design and product decisions within our digital experience. Driven by your ability to uncover consumer needs, challenges, motivations, and aspirations, your research insights and recommendations will directly influence the delivery of exceptional user experiences. This role requires a deep understanding of user behavior, rigorous research skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve alignment and provide ongoing transparency and rationale.              

Perform end-to-end experience and design research activities, including planning, conducting, and analyzing qualitative data to inform design and digital experiences;6 years

Analyze research findings, distilling complex data into clear and concise reports, presentations, and actionable recommendations;demonstrate the ability to explore and articulate relationships across data points and patterns, synthesize data to increase digestibility, and craft a robust story;6 years

Demonstrate knowledge of generative, evaluative and usability research approaches, methodologies, tactics, and conversational prompts, and understand best use case scenarios for applying them;6 years

Mural, MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint), UserZoom

This role will mostly interface with MS Office and Mural to conduct conversations, build reports, capture and analyze qualitative data, review designer unmoderated tests, plan for moderated research, deliver reports, etc. Given the nature of these tools, they can be learned while on the job and would not be a reason to disqualify any candidates.

Responsibilities
  • Perform end-to-end experience and design research activities, including planning, conducting, and analyzing qualitative data to inform design and digital experiences.
  • Define and lead planning tasks including discovery, stakeholder alignment, and methodology development.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of generative, evaluative and usability research approaches, methodologies, tactics, and conversational prompts, and understand best use case scenarios for applying them.
  • Execute plans for fielding preparation, moderate sessions, and capture data effectively.
  • Analyze and synthesize research findings, distilling complex data into clear and concise reports, presentations, and actionable recommendations;demonstrate the ability to explore and articulate relationships across data points and patterns, synthesize data to increase digestibility, and craft a robust story.
  • Connect dots across themes, leverage past learnings to inform new use cases, and frame findings in a way that articulates what’s most important.
  • Develop deliverables to communicate those findings, insights and themes using both written and visual communication.
  • Communicate effectively across a diverse group of stakeholders;lead debrief sessions, provide informed point of view to advise teams, and author documentation of findings, insights, and next steps, bridging the gap between insights and actionable next steps.
  • Demonstrate ability to explain rationale and provide expertise to stakeholders and designers throughout all phases of research.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create a shared understanding of business problems, member needs, and solutions to achieve intended outcomes.

Looking for a qualitative researcher, with experience specific to research;design experience is not necessary. Research skills should span beyond the digital space and over-index in moderated strategic efforts taking broad conversations and distilling them into pattern-analyzed findings focused on the nuances.
